Participant Criteria

 

In order to investigate how society and culture influence our cognitive biases, we are looking for British nationals, short-term Chinese/HK migrants (those who have lived in the UK for less than 2 months) and long-term Chinese/HK migrants (those who have lived in the UK for more than 2 years).

 

We are looking for healthy volunteers (age 16-65) from different cultures to investigate how people from different cultures may process information differently. You will complete simple computer tasks and answer questionnaires about mood/personality; most people find these tasks fun to complete!

 

You will be reimbursed £20 to cover travel and time!

 

Do you fit the following criteria?

(1)  British

  • Not resided outside the UK for more than 1 month

  • Immediate family has resided permanently in the UK for at least the last two generations.

(2) Chinese/HK

  • Migrated to the UK within the last 2 months

  • Immediate family has resided in China for at least the last two generations.

(3) Chinese/HK

  • Lived in the UK for a continuous period of at least 2 years

  • Immediate family has resided in China for at least the last two generations.

 

Please note that this study is not suitable for anyone with any current or past psychological problems.
